In 1912 Toronto Suburbs Ltd. registered a Plan of Subdivision for Toronto Houses Homes to be built on Waverley Farm (Mt. Pleasant Road and Lawrence Avenue). This Subdivision was originally called Waverley Park. In 1931 the City of Toronto expropriated the properties in the centre of Waverley Park for the creation of a Public Park. This Park was named WANLESS PARK and eventually the entire Neighborhood adopted this name.
Wanless Park, Wanless Road, Wanless Avenue and Wanless Crescent are all named after John Wanless, a former Alderman. WANLESS PARK is boarded East of Ronan Avenue, West of Haslemere Road / Milden Hall Road, South of Haslemere Road and North of Lawrence Avenue East. Just North of Milden Hall Road is Riverview Drive Ravine. It also borders Lawrence Park and the Bridle Path, Teddingto Park, Bedford Park and is close to Forest Hill.
Wanless Park includes five Tennis Courts, a Baseball Diamond, a Basketball Court, Wading Pool and Children's Playground. It also has a Community Centre that has a Gym and Indoor Pool.
The Homes, Houses in Wanless Park are mostly Solid Brick Detached Homes that were built in the 1930-40's. A large portion of these Residential Properties are Two-Storey with 25' Lot sizes. A majority of Wanless Park Residential Homes and Houses either face or back unto Riverview Drive Ravine.
Wanless Park is close to the Yonge / Lawrence Shopping including Hundeds of Stores, Restaurants and Multi-Purpose Offices. Yonge Street offers the Subway and Wanless Park is close to TTC on Lawrence Avenue and Yonge Street.
