Forest Hill,
TORONTO, ONTARIO was
first incorporated as a Village in the early 1900's. Surrounded by
major roads 'Lower Forest Hill' was developed in the 1930's - South
of Eglinton, East of Bathurst, West of Chaplin Crescent/Avenue
Road/Oriole Parkway and North of St. Clair. 'Upper Forest Hill' -
North of Eglinton, East of Marlee Avenue, South of Glencairn
Avenue, West of Latimer Avenue was slower to be developed.
In 1967 Forest Hill Village became part of the City of
Toronto. Forest Hill was named after the first residence owned by
John Wickson built in 1860 on the hilltop of Eglinton Avenue and Old
Forest Hill Road. The hill is still there, but the house has been
replaced by Apartment Buildings.
The Forest Hill neighbourhood is characterized by the
natural landscape of rolling hills, winding roads, the Belt Line
track, formerly the Belt Line Railway, a nature trail which passes
through Forest Hill on its way to Rosedale.
Forest Hill is nestled in one of Toronto's most Prestigious
communities full of Mansions and Luxury Homes located on large
oversized lots.
The Schools in Forest Hill
are among the best in the country. They include 'Upper Canada
College' for Boys and 'Bishop Strachan' for Girls.
Well known for a great
shopping experience is Forest Hill Village Shopping District,
centered around the intersection of Spadina Road and Lonsdale Road.
Full of Boutiques, specialty shops this is also where the South
Office of Forest Hill Real Estate is located.
